I saw these two motorcycles from the road and had to investigate. It turns out they belong to some people who were in their third year of motorcycling around the world. We talked to them for awhile. I dream of doing the same thing someday. I'm not sure if I'll have the opportunity or not, but it's something I think about fairly often.

This is Vang Vieng, which I think was the favorite place of both of us. It has a dark history...this shot depicts the remains of a formerly-secret US airfield, from which we conducted our secret bombing campaign of Cambodia during the Vietnam war.
We decided to splurge and take a hot air balloon ride. My hope was to get some nice morning shots of the beautiful mountainous region of Vang Vieng.
Jackie took this picture covertly at the Cambodian border.
